Cranbrook is one of the most prestigious schools in Sydney offering both day school and boarding from preschool through to year 12 – and boasting a list of ‘Old Boys’ the envy of town. As a progressive school, and with the weight of 105 years of history behind it, Cranbrook was seeking to better articulate its uniqueness and its view for the future.

End of Work were engaged to bring a clear voice to the School and provide guidance to the internal design team by organising the plethora of branded communications behind one clear idea. We were inspired by what had always driven the School – Authenticity. The School’s motto: esse quam videri – ‘to be, rather than to seem to be’, had always been there. What was missing was effectively communicating what this means and how the School strives to build the character of the individuals in its care and empower them to be true to themselves. Cranbrook School’s new positioning is about a fearless independence of thought, anchored around the idea of ‘To be’.

Our work included designing and producing all front-line communications such as the School’s new website and prospectus along with writing and designing new frameworks and templates for both printed and digital communications. We also provided art direction for a new image palette, and produced a comprehensive design guideline document to ensure the internal team could effectively implement the renewed Cranbrook School brand.

With the planned introduction of girls to the Cranbrook campus from 2026 End of Work were engaged to develop a campaign around Cranbrook moving to co-education.
